We need your help saving Bourn Windmill from collapse
Bourn Windmill is one of the oldest windmills in England dating from c1635 and is designated as an Ancient Monument. It is special as it is a trestle post mill and one of only 7 surviving in the UK today.
Sadly, the windmill is currently closed to the public and two charities, Cambridge Past, Present & Future (CPPF) and Cambridgeshire ACRE are working together with the windmill volunteers to attempt to save it from collapse and restore it to working order.
We would like to hear the views of people living in Caxton on the windmill via a short online questionnaire so that we can find out the best way to help a wider range of people to enjoy its history and encourage them to visit it once it reopens again. Your views are just as valid even if you have never heard of the windmill or visited it before.
You can find the survey at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/bourn-windmill-public/. The survey will close on Friday 3 September 2021. All surveys returned by 5pm on this date will be entered into a prize draw for a free guided tour of the windmill for up to 6 people and a delicious afternoon tea.
